Bayonne police captain dies unexpectedly while on duty
BAYONNE,NJ Nov 13 2022– The Bayonne Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.
In a statement Bayonne Police Chief Robert Geisler announced that Captain Paul Jamolawicz, a 37-year veteran of the Department, “died unexpectedly tonight while on-duty serving our community.”
“Tonight has been a devastating night for the Bayonne Police Department,” Geisler said.
Bayonne Fire Chief Keith Weaver later issued his own statement offering the condolences of his Department to their “brothers and sisters of the Bayonne Police Department.”
“Our agencies are intricately tied together as their loss is our loss, and this is especially true as Captain Jomolawicz is also the brother-in-law of Bayonne Fire Department Battalion Chief Thomas Obiedzinski,” Weaver said.
