Two women arrested after pepper spraying LP agent during robbery

The loss prevention staff at a store in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Road reported at 11:05 a.m. Jan. 9, two females were attempting to steal coats.
The pair had used wire cutters to remove the anti-theft cables from the coats during the theft.
The two were identified as Destiny S. Jackson, of Chicago, and Nyla L. Pace, of Harvey.
When the staff approached the pair, Jackson sprayed a chemical irritant into the face of one of the staff members. Both were eventually arrested.
Jackson is accused of aggravated battery to a private security officer, retail theft, obstructing identification, possession of theft detection device remover and mob action.
Pace is accused of retail theft, possession of theft detection device remover and mob action. A court date was pending at the time of the report.
