Nashville security officer shot-clerk killed during store robbery
NASHVILLE, TN Dec 22 2017
Police are searching for two suspects responsible for a shooting outside a north Nashville market that left one person dead and another person injured.
Police said two gunmen approached two men in the parking lot of the Z-Mart convenience store at the corner of 26th Avenue North and Clarksville Pike at 8:20 p.m. and opened fire.
Two men wearing clothing that appears to match that of the gunmen were in the store prior to the shooting. They are wanted as persons of interest in the shooting.
Police said Louis Lisi, 56, of Murfreesboro, was in a trailer outside the store and was reportedly operating a game of chance. William Fox, 64, of Nashville, was seated in a car near the trailer and was acting as security for Lisi, according to police.
The gunmen approached Lisa and Fox and opened fire. Lisi later died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Fox was shot in the car. He was treated and released.
Police are investigating whether Lisa and Fox had a prior interaction with the suspects earlier in the evening.
