Security renders aid to shooting victim who later dies
Washington County OR March 24th, 2023 A man who was critically injured in a shooting in the Metzger neighborhood early last Thursday morning has died in the hospital, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.
The shooting was reported at about 3:10 a.m. on May 18 near the intersection of Southwest Hall Boulevard and Locust Street.
A security guard who was parked nearby heard the gunfire and found Pedro Antonio Prieto-Lopez, 24, of Tigard with gunshot injuries and notified police before helping with first-aid.
First responders started life-saving measures and he was taken to the hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Prieto-Lopez was pronounced dead over the weekend.
“Antonio was a thoughtful gentle giant with an infectious laugh. He was incredibly smart, and passionate about fitness, anime, and making sure the people in his life knew how much he loved them,” family members said. “His passing is an unspeakable tragedy that touches many lives. We implore anyone with knowledge about his death to please contact the police.”
