Two Alabama Department of Corrections Officers Arrested on Contraband Charges
Montgomery AL June 23 2023 The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) announced Friday two former security officers were arrested on contraband charges.
The department of corrections said Lindsey Crystal Poer, a correctional security officer trainee at St. Clair Correctional Facility, resigned following her arrest on charges of ‘Promoting Prison Contraband II and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.’
After the arrest, she was transported to the St. Clair County Jail.
The department of corrections said Recovered contraband included oxycodone, lorazepam, diazpam, four packages wrapped in black electrical tape, and tobacco products.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be added.
The department of corrections said Henry Guice, a correctional officer at Staton Correctional Facility, resigned following his arrest on charges of ‘Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Promoting Prison Contraband II, and Use of Position for Personal Gain.’
After the arrest, Guice was transported to the Elmore County Jail. The department of corrections said recovered contraband included approximately 145.8 gross grams of a crystal-like substance.
He voluntarily signed a resignation form to terminate his employment with the ADOC. The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be added later.
