Man arrested for assaulting security officer and vandalizing police cars in Tulsa
Tulsa OK August 2, 2023 The Tulsa Police Department arrests a man for multiple crimes he committed on Sunday, July 30, including vandalizing 15 patrol cars and assaulting a security officer.
On Sunday, around 2:15 a.m. TPD responded to a call of a private security officer being assaulted at 56th and South Peoria.
The security officer said he was driving Southbound when he came into contact with Angelo Baca walking in the middle of the road. The security officer got out and tried to get Baca to get out of the street.
Several witnesses saw Baca charge at the security officer and assault him with two wooden sticks, Baca then took off running.
Officers and troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol quickly found Baca near 51st and Peoria where Baca continued to not comply with officer commands and fled Northbound.
Baca was still wielding a baton he stole from the security officer when police caught up with him. Baca continued to ignore officer commands and he was taken into custody after the deployment of a taser.
Shortly after his arrest, TPD discovered 15 Tulsa police patrol cars were vandalized at the Riverside Division near 75th and Riverside.
Surveillance video from the division showed Angelo Baca jumping on the cars and busting out the windshields and the sign out front of the building was also vandalized.
TPD determined Baca vandalized the cars before assaulting the security officer on Peoria.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Police Officer
Obstruction (2 counts)
Impeding Traffic
Resisting Arrest
Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
Assault on a Security Guard
Destroying Public Property (2 counts)
