Dallas security guard involved in shooting incident
Dallas Texas October 1 2023 A late-night shooting involving a security guard and a man he was escorting off a property has led to an arrest.
The incident occurred in the early hours of October 1, 2023, on the 11000 block of Harry Hines Blvd, according to Dallas Police.
The preliminary investigation revealed that 26-year-old David Thomas, a uniformed security guard, was in the process of escorting 32-year-old Marqurius Lambert off the premises.
Lambert reportedly retrieved a firearm from his car and tucked it into his waistband, leading to a struggle between the two men.
During the altercation, Lambert allegedly pulled out the firearm, causing Thomas to react in self-defense. Thomas fired his weapon, wounding Lambert. Despite his injury, Lambert attempted to flee the scene in his car but crashed shortly after. He then abandoned the vehicle and continued his escape on foot.
Approximately an hour later, Lambert sought treatment at a local hospital for a gunshot wound to the arm. After receiving treatment, Lambert was arrested and charged with Assault on a Security Guard. He was subsequently taken to Dallas County Jail.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
