Burlington man arrested for allegedly threatening security staff with knife
BURLINGTON, Vt. Nov 4.2023
Police arrested a Burlington man on Friday morning after they said he threatened security staff at a housing complex downtown.
Burlington Police said 53-year-old Craig Adams threatened security staff at “The Wilson” with a knife just after 4 a.m. Police said Adams then retreated to his second-floor apartment following the altercation.
When police arrived, Adams refused to cooperate with responding officers. Multiple units, including the BPD Crisis Negotiations Unit and the Emergency Response Unit, joined in efforts to get Adams to leave his apartment and were finally successful after nearly five hours.
Adams was taken into custody but resisted arrest and was noncompliant while being processed at police headquarters, according to officials.
He was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest and is being held without bail.
