Milwaukee security guard killed in triple shooting Sunday morning

One person is dead, and two others hurt in a triple shooting near Fond du Lac Avenue and Baldwin Street in Milwaukee early Sunday morning.
The 26-year-old killed was an on duty security officer working at the Eve Lounge, a night club on Fond du Lac Avenue, police and the owner of Eve said. The lounge is connected to the Diamond Inn Motel.
“God bless his family and him,” said Thomas Holmes, who’s owned Eve for six years. “He’s a wonderful person. He was the most wonderful person you ever want to meet.”
Holmes said he and the security guard were working to deescalate a fight in the parking lot just before 1 a.m. when the shooting happened.
“I guess he tried to grab the other guy, and all I heard was pop pop pop,” Holmes said.
Two 34-year-olds were also injured and taken to the hospital. They are both expected to survive.
“It’s very scary,” Holmes said. “I’m still in disbelief and shocked. My boys are shocked. Everybody is just panicked. It was unbelievable.”
Police have not yet released the name of the deceased security guard.
