Carolina Place Mall security and police chase down jewelry store robber

A smash-and-grab robbery attempt was reported at the Carolina Place mall and security personnel and police responded.
Witnesses said that an attempted smash-and-grab robbery just happened at a jewelry store inside the mall.
The incident happened before 11am. Witnesses on the scene say they heard loud noises. Witnesses also say mall security and police determined someone who they believed tried to smash the glass to one of the jewelry cases inside Diamonds By David at the mall.
Pineville Police confirmed they their officers responded but did not say if an arrest was made.
