Man arrested for stabbing security guard during Albuquerque shoplifting incident
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. February 20 2024 The Albuquerque Police Department arrested a man for stabbing a security officer after stealing hundreds of dollars’ worth of merchandise from a northeast Albuquerque store.
According to the criminal complaint, police say Ernest Nakatewa walked into the Ross Dress For Less on Wyoming on Friday, attempted to steal merchandise and when stopped by security, he then stabbed a security guard in the back and left with more than $300 worth of goods.
He is now facing shoplifting, battery, and resisting arrest charges.
The state has filed for pretrial detention.
