Security guard shot at Rochester bar
Rochester, N.Y. September 26, 2024— A security guard is hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police, after being shot at a popular bar on Monroe Avenue early Thursday.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting at J.D. Oxford’s Pub just before 1:45 a.m.
They determined the 37-year-old man was breaking up a fight when a suspect fired at least one round and struck him.
Police said the suspect fled before officers arrived, and it’s unclear whether the victim was the intended target.
