Security officer shot several times

A security guard was shot several times during an alleged robbery in Adamview, Klerksdorp, today.
The man, believed to be in his forties, was in a critical condition after he sustained gunshot wounds in a bank. According to police’s Amanda Funani it cannot be confirmed whether an armed robbery took place but the investigation has been handed over to the Hawks.
The victim was attended to by paramedics before he was transported to a local private hospital. No other injuries were reported. According to ER24’s Russel Meiring, local authorities were at the scene of the incident.
ER24 paramedics and local authorities arrived on the scene to find a male security guard lying inside the bank, said Meiring.
“The man was treated for his injuries and was provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported to a nearby, private hospital for further treatment,” he explained.
However, the exact details surrounding the incident remain unclear but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations, according to Meiring.
