Albuquerque security officer shot at Allsup’s store
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Feb 6 2018— Police say a man shot at a security guard, grazing his head with the bullet, after being told to leave a southeast Albuquerque Allsup’s Sunday.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Metropolitan Court, an officer was on patrol near Zuni and Indiana SE when he saw a security guard looking panicked as she ran into the convenience store. When he stopped to talk with her, the security guard told him her partner had just been shot in the head.
The officer found the other security guard had a graze wound on the top left side of his head.
The guards said they had been asking Steven Walker, 36, to leave the property because he was causing a disturbance and he became even more irate and started yelling at them.
“They were walking behind the business attempting to ensure that Steven left the property when he became upset and (one of the guards) pepper sprayed Steven,” the officer wrote in the complaint. “Steven grabbed his handgun and shot in their direction.”
Officers found Walker nearby and he was carrying a Glock 9 mm pistol, according to the complaint. He is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center.
