Alliance Security and Investigations employee arrested for no credentials
Laredo TX May 19 2017 A man was dressed with a security guard uniform, had firearm by his side but did not have credentials, according to Laredo police.
On Thursday, Alberto Mora, 23, was charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and impersonating a security guard.
At 6:52 p.m., officers patrolling along the 3100 block of La Pita Mangana Road noticed a red F-150 with a defective brake light. Police pulled over the vehicle and identified the driver as Mora.
Officers noticed he was wearing an Alliance Security and Investigations uniform. Mora told officers he was on his way to work. Police then noticed that Mora allegedly had a holstered firearm on his right hip.
Mora started acting nervous and immediately called his supervisor, according to police.
Police spoke to the supervisor. He told authorities Mora had worked for him for about a year. He further stated he was in the process of getting Mora’s credentials from the Department of Public Safety.
When asked for credentials, Mora stated he did not have any.
Asked if he had been arrested before, Mora allegedly stated he was arrested for impersonating a security officer sometime between 2012 or 2013. Court records show his case was not accepted for prosecution.
Authorities seized Mora’s black Smith & Wesson handgun and two loaded magazines. Mora was taken into custody. He was additionally cited for the defective brake light.
