Butte woman charged with stabbing hospital security officer
BUTTE MT Feb 21 2018 – A woman in Butte faces a felony assault charge after she stabbed a security officer while being treated at the local hospital.
Police were called after the patient, Linda Berger, 50, reportedly became erratic and the security officer tried to restrain her.
During the struggle, police say that Berger, being treated at St. James Healthcare on Sunday night, grabbed a pair of scissors from a counter in the hospital.
As a security officer continued to get the woman under control, Berger allegedly stabbed him in the arm with the scissors before she was subdued by staff.
The security officer was treated for the non-life threatening wound.
Berger remains jailed at this time.
