Exotic dancer at Fl Gentleman’s club pulls BB gun on manager and armed security officer
DAYTONA BEACH FL Feb 24 2018 — An exotic dancer aimed a rifle at the boss who had just fired her, but it turns out she was outgunned when the security guard standing next to him pulled his firearm, police said.
She hit the floor because she was holding a BB gun. The security guard’s weapon was armed with real bullets, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.
The fired dancer, Amber Colquitt, 28, wound up jailed on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was booked at the Volusia County Branch Jail and held without bail.
Police were called to Pin-Ups Gentleman’s Club, 400 E. International Speedway Blvd., and spoke with a manager and a security guard, both of whom said they had to remove Colquitt from the premises because she had gotten into a fight with another dancer during an argument about money, according to an arrest report.
Colquitt made threats, including one in which she said she was going to return and “shoot the place up,” police said. She pointed to the manager, Amir Ahmed, and the security guard, Victor Garcia, and said, “When I come back, I’m starting with you,” the report stated.
She left the area in her vehicle, but she came back on foot shortly thereafter and was carrying something in a jacket, police said. Colquitt pulled away the jacket, which exposed a long gun, according to the report.
She took “an aggressive stance” while holding the BB gun and made threats to both Ahmed and Garcia, police said.
Garcia pulled his handgun and demanded that she drop the weapon and get on the ground. She complied.
During her interview with police, Colquitt said she had used the BB gun earlier that day for a photo shoot. She also accused Ahmed of hitting her that night and she felt she was using the BB gun as self defense, police said.
The arresting officer stated in his report that he reviewed the video surveillance footage, which corroborated the witnesses’ accounts.
