Portland security guard shoots man during bar confrontation

Police and EMS responded to a shooting at the Speakeasy Lounge early Friday, police said.
When officers arrived at the business located at 545 S.E. 162nd Ave., shortly after 1:30 a.m. they found one man had been shot by a security guard.
Officers think the man was involved in a confrontation with a customer at the lounge and he broke the lounge’s front door and shouted threats after being told to leave, according to police.
A private officer confronted the man and shot him at some point, police said.
The man suffered injuries that were thought to be serious but non-life-threatening, police said. He was taken to a hospital.
Police said the security guard, who was working at the time of the shooting, surrendered his gun and has cooperated with the investigation.
The shooting remains under investigation.
Police said they will give prosecutors all their information about the case for their review and consideration.
