Man banned from mall returns, knocks down patron, kicks officer
PROVIDENCE, R.I. Feb 6 2018 — A man who’s been ordered to stay out of Providence Place mall is accused of knocking down a customer and kicking an officer who arrested him there Saturday afternoon.
Christopher Bosco, 32, who has a criminal record of shoplifting, drug and trespassing charges, showed up at the Lucky Brand store — despite two trespass orders against him. Mall security officers put him in handcuffs, but when police arrived, Bosco broke free and ran.
Police said that Bosco knocked down a mall patron, 54-year-old Patricia Mitchell, who fell backward and hit her head. Police officers grabbed Bosco, who they say was spitting and screaming as they took him away.
Police said that Bosco spat in the face of Officer Thomas Rose and kicked him in the chest — but stopped acting out when Officer Rosemarie Chin pulled out her Taser.
Bosco was charged with simple assault, simple assault on a police officer, trespassing, and two warrants from Superior Court. Firefighters treated Mitchell at the scene.
