Seattle police nab Costco thieves at back door
SEATTLE WA March 17 2018Â — A man and two women were arrested Wednesday after police reportedly caught the group trying to steal laptops and vacuums from the SoDo Costco, according to Seattle Police Department news release.
Officers responded about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to a report of shoplifting at the Costco.
The release states that officers were able to locate a car backing up to emergency doors to the store. The officers pulled their patrol car in front of the car to prevent it from leaving and talked to an 18-year-old woman in the car.
Shortly after, a 30-year-old man and 21-year-old woman opened the doors and tried to walk out of the store with stolen laptops and vacuums, according to the release.
Police were able to arrest the two, as well as the woman in the car, and learned the same group was suspected of stealing merchandise from another Costco the same day.
The total value of the items stolen was $2,200.
Police also found a knife on the man arrested, the release states.
The man was booked into King County jail for investigation of robbery and the two women were booked for investigation of theft.
