GUYANA April 10 2018 Two teenagers from the Corentyne area in Berbice, were on Friday charged and remanded to jail for the robbery and murder of security guard, Muneshprem Monien.
The man’s lifeless body was found at the Rose Hall store where he worked as a security guard. The two teenagers, 17-year-old Yuvraj Singh and 19-year-old, Carlos Bollers, were employed at the same store.
In Court on Friday, they were not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge of murder. They were both unrepresented and did not say anything before or after their arraignment.
The mother of one of the teenagers was also charged for helping them after they committed the act.
The woman,Lalita Bollers, reportedly assisted in disposing the murder weapon and washing and disposing the bloodied clothes belonging to the teens when they went to her after allegedly committing the act. She has also been remanded to jail.
It was a caretaker who discovered the body of the 52-year-old security guard when he went to check up on the business place since the owners were overseas.
As Police investigators began to probe the crime spree, a number of employees of the store was arrested since there were no signs of a break-in and the area where the body was discovered was an area that employees would have been able to access easily.
The two murderers accused will be back in Court later this month for the continuation of the case.
