3 Killed in head on crash with armored security truck
CORNISH, N.H. May 4 2018
Three people died Thursday after a head-on crash involving an armored car on Route 12A in Cornish.
Route 12A was closed at Town House Road as a result of the crash, and drivers were advised to seek alternative routes.
Officials said a Ford Taurus was traveling north on Route 12 A when it collided head-on with a Loomis money truck traveling south just before 2 p.m.
State police said it appears the Ford crossed over the center line into the other lane before the crash.
“At this point, it appears the evidence before us is that the mid-sized sedan had crossed over into the northbound lane, crossing over the double yellow line where the Loomis truck and the mid-sized sedan crashed into each other head-on,” said Staff Sgt. Scott Almstrom.
Three adults in the Ford died as a result of the crash. The two occupants of the Loomis truck were not injured.
The Ford was registered in Claremont.
The victims’ identities are being withhelding pending notification of next of kin
Route 12A was closed for about seven hours as New Hampshire State Police reconstructed the crash scene to try to figure out what happened.
