Off-duty NJ hospital security officer found murdered
FREEHOLD NJ May 29 2018 – A 23-year-old Red Bank man was arrested Sunday and charged with stabbing a 26-year-old man to death, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.
Demar S. Reevey faces first-degree murder charges in the stabbing death of Andrew Hill of Red Bank, according to Gramiccioni.
Police found Hill in the area of of Tilton Avenue and Bank Street in Red Bank about 12:43 a.m. Sunday after receiving a 9-1-1 call about a stabbing, according to the prosecutor. Hill was taken to Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, where he was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m., he said.
Reevey was arrested a short time later and charged with — in addition to murder — third-degree possession of a knife for an unlawful purpose, Gramiccioni said.
Hill was a member of the Red Bank First Aid and Rescue Squad and the Westside Hose fire company, according to the first aid squad.
“He was a very caring, sweet, and loving individual who will be deeply missed,” the first aid company wrote on its Facebook page.
Hill’s Facebook page said he was a 2nd lieutenant in the fire company and worked as a security officer at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel.
