Security guard, multiple officers, Orlando named in Pulse-related lawsuit
Orlando FL June 8 2018 A new lawsuit in the Pulse Nightclub shooting puts blame on a security guard for abandoning his post at the club, the city of Orlando and numerous law enforcement officers.
The security guard, an off-duty police officer, was named for not being at his post the night of the shooting which allowed Omar Mateen to enter the club to scout the location, leave then return with his firearms to “execute his sinister plan to kill people,” the lawsuit alleges.
The lawsuit also places blame on the city of Orlando and 30 unidentified law enforcement officers.
The lawsuit says 20 members of law enforcement stayed outside the club safely instead of going inside to neutralize Mateen.
Ten others are being blamed for detaining uninjured victims to interview and identify , a process the lawsuit said took hours. The document states it was unlawful to do so.
The lawsuit continues to say that the city of Orlando is negligent in training its enforcement properly.
