NYC security officer finds possible homicide victim
New York City NY June 10 2018 A man was found dead under suspicious circumstances early Saturday in a Kips Bay halfway house, police said.
A security guard at the Friend’s House in Rosehill — which houses people living with AIDS — discovered the 54-year-old man with trauma to his head and body around 1:45 a.m., cops said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Residents at the building, on East 25th Street near Lexington Avenue, believe the victim knew his killer.
“He used to visit [the victim] once in a while and it appears that he killed him,” said one resident, who declined to give his name. “[He] was screaming and then they found him dead.”
Those who live at Friends House said they have safety concerns.
“Security is pretty bad,” another resident said. “They try to help but… I’ve had things go missing. I had a laptop go missing. Some people just like to go in and steal.”
Authorities did not release the victim’s name by Saturday afternoon, pending family notification
