Tyler TX police charge 2 men with shooting at security officer
Tyler TX June 16 2018 Two men were arrested for shooting at a security guard in the Stone Creek Apartment Complex in Tyler.
Two others were arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault charges during the incident.
Tyler Police officers were called to the Stone Creek Apartment Complex, 6100 Hollytree Drive, at 1:20 a.m. after shots were fired in a parking lot near a pool, according to a news release.
Officers were told that a security guard working for the complex was trying to break up a fight between two women who were fighting a third woman. A large group had gathered around the incident, according to police.
Two men with guns threatened the security guard, and shot in his direction. The security officer hid behind a vehicle. He was uninjured but the car was struck with gunfire.
Alvin Dewayne Dunn Jr., 20 of Gladewater, and Kenyotta Daquis Henderson, 21, of Smith County, were each charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Their bonds were set at $60,000 each.
Officers also recovered an AR-15 and pistol that was located at the scene of the incident.
The two 18-year-old females that were fighting were charged with misdemeanor assault. It is the practice of the Tyler Morning Telegraph to not name people charged with misdemeanor crimes.
