Dayton Ohio security guard shots up nightclub after being fired
Dayton OH May 30 2017 A man was arrested late Saturday night after he allegedly fired shots at the club where he was recently fired.
Shawn Jermaine Parker, 42, is being held on suspicion of felonious assault for allegedly firing shots at Sugar’s Nite Club, 1919 N. Main St., according to the Dayton police report.
Witnesses told police the suspect pulled up to the business around 2:40 a.m. in a dark blue Ford Explorer and fired three shots at the building from a .22-caliber handgun, then he turned the gun toward one of the witnesses and fired three shots, according to the report.
The suspect sped away, but witnesses were able to identify the shooter as a former security guard at the club, according to the report.
No one was struck by the gunfire and no one was injured.
Parker was arrested that night in the 2200 block of Kipling Drive. He is scheduled to appear for an arraignment in Dayton Municipal Court on Tuesday.
