Westminster County man charged with assaulting hospital security
Westminster County MD June 21 2018 Westminster man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly was physically aggressive toward hospital staff.
Jack Arthur Hohn Jr., 42, of the 800 block of Johahn Drive, was charged with one count each of second-degree assault and malicious destruction of property — less than $1,000. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail, according to electronic court records.
According to the statement of probable cause deputies of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to Carroll Hospital Saturday for a reported assault and found that a man, later identified as Hohn was being restrained by hospital staff.
Witnesses stated that Hohn had become agitated and was unable to be calmed down. A witness said he then used a hospital gurney to ram into a locked door in an attempt to open it, causing damage to both.
Hospital security guards were called, and they attempted to restrain Hohn. He attempted to escape and spit on the guards, a witness told police.
Hohn could not be reached for comment at the number listed for him as of 7 p.m. Monday. A court date is scheduled for Aug. 14.
