Fairbanks woman charged with assaulting security guards
Fairbanks AK June 24 2018 Patti Flora Maudrey Sam, 23, of Fairbanks, was charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault and two counts of fifth-degree criminal mischief June 15 after Fairbanks police responded to the Big I Pub and Lounge for a report that she threw a cigarette butt receptacle through the front window. Sam had been kicked out of the bar for attacking her ex-boyfriend, and slapped the security guard as he was escorting her out, according to charging documents. Sam walked away after breaking the window.
Sam’s ex-boyfriend told police Sam yelled and cussed at him, grabbed and pushed him, and jumped on his back and started strangling him. A couple of bar patrons pulled her off of him, at which point she started attacking bar security guards. The man left the bar and saw Sam walking on Barnette Street. Sam threw rocks at the man’s car, cracking the rear window and damaging the driver’s and passenger’s side doors and rear fender.
Sam denied attacking her boyfriend and accused the security guard of hitting her. Surveillance footage from the bar clearly showed Sam attacking her ex-boyfriend and slapping the security guard, according to the charges.
