Chinook Winds Casino Security detain auto burglars
Lincoln OR June 25 2018 On June 23, the Lincoln City Police Department was notified by Chinook Winds Casino Security advising one of the suspects in a car break-in from June 22, was currently at the casino. Security advised Dispatch they had detained the subject in their first aid room awaiting police arrival.
Lincoln City Police officers contacted the subject at the casino and identified him as Joshua Carlson. Carlson’s girlfriend, Nicole Dickerson, was also at the casino and had been located by casino surveillance. Officers on scene ran Carlson and Dickerson for wants with Lincoln City PD dispatch and they both returned with warrants out of Multnomah County and Washington County.
The vehicle Carlson and Dickerson were in, which had been identified was located in the main parking lot of the Casino. Lincoln City Police officers ran the vehicle for wants and it returned stolen out of Multnomah County. Inside the stolen vehicle were a purse and a baseball batting helmet. The purse had been taken out of vehicle earlier in the day and the baseball batting helmet had been taken out of the car break-in on June 22.
Carlson and Dickerson were arrested and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for the outstanding warrants, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, theft I and II, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, fraudulent use of a credit card, identity theft, conspiracy to commit a crime, criminal mischief II.
Police urge residents and visitors in Lincoln City to take precautions and do not leave anything of value in plain view in your vehicle, and report any suspicious activity around vehicles or residences to local law enforcement.
