Thieves steal designer purses worth $30,000
MEMPHIS, TN July 8 2018
Police are investigating after thieves stole designer purses and money from Joseph’s early Thursday morning.
The store’s general manager told police he received an alarm notification at about 4:30 a.m.
Investigators discovered the front right window was broken and the metal security gate had been cut.
Inside the business, investigators found a set of bolt cutters on the checkout counter beside an open cash register.
Surveillance footage shows three unidentified men breaking into the store. One suspect broke the window glass with an unknown object, while a second cut the metal gate with bolt cutters, and the third acted as a lookout.
Officials have not released the surveillance footage at this time.
The suspects stole the cash register till and an undetermined number of Prada, Chloe, and various brand-name pursues worth approximately $30,000.
The general manager also said the cost of the damaged security gate, film, glass window, and display items is worth an additional $10,000 to $15,000.
The suspects are described as two black men and one white man wearing black hoodies, white shirts, black pants, black shoes, and gloves.
Across the street, a clerk at Exxon told police that earlier she saw a suspicious-looking tan car with two black men inside and a blue car with a white man inside parked near the gas pump. After the white man paid for gas, he sat back in the car and when she walked outside both cars left simultaneously.
