Indio CA. security officer stabbed
INDIO, Calif. June 3 2017 – A security guard and his brother were stabbed near a supermarket in Indio Wednesday night.
The stabbing occurred near the Food 4 Less on Highway 111 and Monroe in Indio at a little before 10:30 p.m.
According to Sgt. Dan Marshall of the Indio Police Department, a security guard saw a possible transient man in the area. The security guard asked the transient to leave. They began to argue and started fighting. The security guard’s brother eventually stepped in.
The transient got a hold of a knife and stabbed them both.
The security guard was stabbed multiple times. According to Sgt. Marshall, all the stab wounds were superficial and non-life threatening.
The security guard’s brother was stabbed once, also superficial, non-life threatening.
They were both transported to the hospital.
The transient is in custody and booked on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. The identity of the man has not yet been released.
