TUSCALOOSA, AL May 18 2018
A hotel manager in western Alabama has been charged with human trafficking.
Tuscaloosa Police say 65-year-old Shirley Sparks, who manages a La Quinta Inn in Tuscaloosa, has been involved in criminal activity for at least 3 years and benefited financially.
In June of 2017, investigators arrested James Edward Warren at the same La Quinta Inn.
As part of the ongoing investigation into Warren, authorities uncovered evidence implicating Sparks.
Following the police investigation, a grand jury indictment was handed down for Sparks and Tuscaloosa Police arrested Sparks Thursday.
Sparks is charged with two counts of second degree human trafficking. She is being held on $30,000 bond.
