Alabama security officer finds deceased victim of industrial accident
THOMASVILLE, Ala. Dec 9 2020 One person is dead following an accident at Browder & Sons Veneer Monday morning.
Thomasville Police Chief Mitch Stuckey said that a security officer found the body of a 24-year-old Wilcox County resident who died in an industrial accident.
The victim’s name has not been released.
According to Stuckey, the accident happened in the boiler section of the mill at approximately 5:30 a.m. where the victim feeds a machine wood chips.
He said when the shift change happened, a security guard found him under chips. He notified 911.
Policebelieve that something around the victim, “shifted or malfunctioned and he got trapped.”
Officials say the victim was working alone at the time.

Day released the following statement: “The Thomasville Police Department, Thomasville Fire Department, and ASAP Ambulance responded to a call at Browder & Son Veneer early this morning due to an industrial accident. The accident has resulted in the unfortunate death of a Browder & Son employee. The accident remains under investigation at this time. The name of the employee is being withheld until proper notification can be made to the family of the deceased.
