Alderson Broaddus University security detain student with drugs
PHILIPPI, W.Va. April 4 2019 – A student at Alderson Broaddus University was arrested last Thursday after security officers said they found marijuana in his dorm room.
On Thursday, March 28, officers with the Philppi Police Department were dispatched to Kincaid Residence Hall at ABU in regards to a drug complaint. According to police, ABU security told them that they were going to search the dorm room of Terrance Tate, 22, of Huntington.
Officers said they arrived at the residence hall to meet with ABU security. Police said that ABU security advised officers that they discovered a green leafy substance and digital scales in Tate’s dorm room.
Upon arriving at the dorm room, Tate told security that the green leafy substance in a bottle was marijuana and it belonged to him. Officers then located three separate bags of marijuana that weighed a total of 33 grams.
Tate has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to court documents.
