Alderson Broaddus University security help make drug bust
PHILIPPI, W.Va. December 3 2018
Campus security officers on patrol at a local college led police to an area where they had smelled marijuana and police made an arrest.
Security said that the man was arrested at Alderson Broaddus University Thursday after police say he was found with drugs and drug paraphernalia.
According to the criminal complaint, police responded to Priestly Residence Hall regarding drugs there.
ABU Security told the officers that they smelt burnt marijuana in a room.
During a search of the room, ABU security found drug paraphernalia.
They say 20-year-old Kelvin Gilcrest, of Ohio, fled out of the room.
Police say they found Gilcrest in Kincaid Hall trying to flush marijuana down a toilet.
Gilcrest is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
