Alert Pixar Animation Studios security help nab burglars
EMERYVILLE CA Feb 8 2018 — Two men were arrested Monday night on suspicion of burglarizing vehicles after police were alerted by Pixar Animation Studios security guards, authorities said Tuesday.
Property believed taken in the break-ins was found on both suspects, police said.
They were identified as Andrew Holle, 20, and Hasani Venson, 22, both of Oakland.
Police were called about 10 p.m. Monday by the security guards, who reported seeing two men with flashlights looking into parked vehicles in the 1200 block of 45th Street which is near the Pixar complex.
Officers detained the men and learned that Holle was on probation for vandalism that allowed him to be searched by police. Officers found two iPads and a credit card on him that did not belong to him, police said.
Venson consented to being searched and police said registration and insurance documents were found on him that turned out to be from one of the vehicles burglarized.
Officers checked the area and about 50 feet from where the men were stopped found two vehicles they said the pair had burglarized, as well as a discarded burglary tool.
Both men were arrested on suspicion of two counts of first-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools. Holle was being held on $80,000 bail and Venson on $130,000 bail.
