Arizona man crawled on Walmart floor to look up women’s dresses

Mesa police arrested a 59-year-old man who is suspected of crawling on the floor at a Mesa Walmart to look up women’s dresses.
Jose Aguilar Gallegos, of Gila Bend, was arrested on suspicion of voyeurism July 1 at the Walmart, at 857 N. Dobson Road, according to court documents.
Store security told police the man, later identified as Gallegos, was seen on the floor, crawling toward a woman to look under her skirt. He then stood up and placed his hand in his pants, the documents state.
Gallegos also was seen walking through the store with his hand in his pocket while following random women.
One victim was unaware of what the man was doing. She was surprised and scared upon being told, and she wanted to prosecute, according to court documents.
Surveillance video showed the woman squatting down while looking at merchandise. Gallegos noticed her, walked to the next aisle and crawled on the floor several times to look at the victim, the documents stated.
The man told police what he did was wrong but said he didn’t know why he did it, according to the court documents.
Gallegos was arrested and booked into Mesa City Jail on suspicion of voyeurism. He is scheduled to appear in Maricopa County Superior Court on Tuesday, July 16 for a status conference, on July 22 for a preliminary hearing.
