Arizona man gets approval to wear pasta strainer on his head in driver’s license photo
CHANDLER, Ariz. June 3 2017— Sometimes DMVS are a little strict with driver’s license photos, but one Arizona man managed to take a pretty unique one. He wore a pasta strainer on his head, and his state has recognized the photo.
To Sean Corbett of Chandler, it’s a religious headpiece. Corbett is a Pastafarian – a follower of the Church of The Flying Spaghetti Monster. FSM was created in 2005 to fight teaching creationism to students in public schools.
Part of the religion includes wearing a pasta strainer as a hat.
For the last few years, Corbett has been trying to make it official, wanting to wear it in his Driver’s license photo. The state allows for religious expressions but says it should reflect a person’s daily appearance.
After multiple rejections, Corbett got his new ID Tuesday.
