Arkansas officer, 45, dies unexpectedly
MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. Feb 2 2018 — An Arkansas police department is mourning the unexpected loss of one of their own.
The Baxter Bulletin reports that 45-year-old Sgt. Eric Ray Neal died Thursday unexpectedly. A cause of death was not released.
“Sgt. Neal’s passing leaves a void in the hearts and lives of those who knew him,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a Facebook post. “Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.”
Neal began his law enforcement career in 2000 and worked with the sheriff’s office since 2001. He worked in various areas including the Crime Investigation Department and as a K-9 handler.
Neal was remembered for his musical talent, which included the trumpet and piano, and his love for his family.
Funeral services were held Tuesday.
