Armed robber confronts Tulsa armed security officer
TULSA, Okla. May 31 2017 Police are investigating two overnight attempted robberies that could be connected.
Officers responded around 1:25 a.m. to the McDonald’s near 15th and Peoria after two males armed with a handgun used a brick to break open an outer door. Police say the suspects tried to open an inner door at the restaurant, but a manager started screaming and scared them off.
Police are also investigating an armed robbery at the Kum & Go near Skelly and Yale.
Officers responded to the convenience store around 2:15 a.m. after an armed suspect entered the store and confronted an armed security officer.
The man told the security officer to have the cashier empty the register, but the security guard drew her gun and sent the suspect running empty-handed, according to police.
Police said that no one was injured and no shots were fired.
The suspects in the attempted robberies were all wearing dark clothing that obscured their faces, police say. The suspect in the Kum & Go robbery was last seen running into a nearby car dealership.
No one was hurt in either robbery.
