Armed suspect knocking on doors shot and killed by Aurora Colorado police
AURORA, Colo. Feb 13, 2022 The Aurora Police Department is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting that happened in the early morning hours Friday.
Police responded at 4:38 a.m. to multiple calls of a Hispanic male knocking on apartment doors with a gun at the La Fontaine Apartments, located at 1325 N. Idalia Ct.
Both English and Spanish instructions were given to the 31-year-old suspect to raise his hands, but he did not do so, APD said.
Two officers then fired their weapons striking the suspect. It is not yet known whether the suspect fired his gun.
First responders performed CPR but the suspect was declared deceased by paramedics on the scene.
The two officers involved in the shooting have been put on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Both were wearing body cameras. Their body cam video will be used in the investigation, police said.
