Armored car worker sentenced for stealing ATM cash
OMAHA, Neb. Nov 24 2017 A 23-year-old man has been sentenced for stealing cash he was supposed to use for filling an ATM in the Omaha suburb of Bellevue.
Federal prosecutors say Jacob McClure, of Papillion (puh-PIHL’-yuhn), was ordered Monday to spend eight consecutive weekends in custody, serve three years of probation and perform 160 hours of community service.
He also was ordered to pay nearly $4,700 more in restitution. McClure had pleaded guilty to bank larceny.
Prosecutors say McClure was working for Rochester Armored Car Inc. in December 2016 when he took more than $47,000 he was supposed to use in filling the Bellevue ATM.
He’d already turned over $37,000 he hadn’t yet spent and has made more payments.
The sentencing order amount is the remainder.
