Armored truck accident lands vehicle into NC creek
CHARLOTTE, NC March 24 2019
Drivers along Interstate 485 in Charlotte saw something that you just don’t see every day.
An armored truck, down an embankment and laying in a creek surrounded by emergency workers and law enforcement.
Traffic along Oakdale Road near Interstate 485 was snarled Wednesday morning after the armored truck ran off the road and landed in Long Creek.
The road was shut down in both directions to allow fire and Hazmat crews to respond to the accident that also included a spill, Long Creek Fire Department said.
Extra law enforcement responded to secure the contents of the truck and to assist in traffic control.
At this time, we do not know what caused the accident or if there were any injuries to the security officers.
