Arrest made in 2018 shooting death of bouncer outside pub in Franklin County
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio Dec 5 2020— A man is charged with murder for the shooting death of a bouncer outside a pub in Franklin County in 2018.
Robert Woods was working as a bouncer at O’Toole’s Irish Pub and Grill, West Broad Street in Prairie Township, when the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said several shots were fired from a vehicle around 3 a.m.
The sheriff’s office said Woods was escorting people from the bar to their vehicles when he was shot.
He was taken to OhioHealth Doctors Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Brandon Neville, 23, was arrested on Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office said he was the driver of the vehicle involved in the shooting.
Detectives believe Neville and a second suspect were planning to rob the pub.
The second suspect died by apparent suicide in 2018.
Neville is charged with murder and having weapons under disability.
“Lamont was a good person, he was always helping everyone, he had the heart of an angel,” Daryle Green, a bouncer O’Tooles Irish Pub and Grill told 10TV in 2018.
“He was a very good friend and a partner of mine, we always had each other’s back and he always had everybody’s back inside of this bar.”
