Atascadero Cal. K-Mart security officer injured by shoplifter

A Kmart security officer was taken to the hospital after police say they were assaulted by a thief over the weekend.
Atascadero police say the guard caught a person taking merchandise Saturday night.
The loss prevention officer confronted the alleged robber as the person was exiting the store, and was then hit on the head with an object, possibly a bat, according to a family member of the security worker.
The security officer told KSBY News Monday he suffered a bad concussion, but is doing OK and is out of the hospital.
He says he did not get a good look at the person who hit him.
No arrests have been made.
