Atlanta Police officer shot in arm while working security
Atlanta GA June 25 2023 An off-duty Atlanta Police officer was shot overnight while working as security near Georgia State University.
According to APD, the incident happened around 1:40 a.m. Sunday on Courtland Street. Based off the address provided by police, the exact location appears to be the nightclub Lyfe.
The venue has previously been the scene of multiple shootings, including one which was deadly back in 2020. The second shooting happened in March of 2021.
At this time, the officer is in stable condition at Grady Hospital. He was struck in the arm and had non-life-threatening injuries.
Police add that no officers fired their weapons during the incident
Two people have also been detained for questioning, but no official arrests have been made according to police.
