Bandits beat security guard to death in Laventille

A security officer is dead, while his co-worker is hospitalised at the Port of Spain General Hospital following an attack last night at the Mac Foods Meat Processor Limited, located along the Old St Joseph Road in Laventille.
LoopTT was told that both victims worked for K9 Security.
The deceased is said to be Jody Awai.
The other officer is warded in a serious condition at the hospital.
They were both attacked by three armed men around 11.30 pm on Sunday.
The men beat the security officers, before stealing several items from the compound.
The armed men then escaped.
Awai, police said, died on the scene.
The other officer notified police and was rushed to the hospital where he remained warded up to 9 am on Monday.
