Bank security officer viciously attacked-knocked unconscious had weapon stolen

A bank security officer standing watch at the Regions Bank on Baseline Rd was viciously attacked and had her firearm taken from her during the assault.
Police received a call from the bank at around 9:30 a.m. after an unknown male attacked the bank security guard.
Bank employees Told police that the man was upset because they could not cash his check because the check was written for the wrong account.
The security officer intervened and asked him to leave when he got upset but he started punching her, knocking her unconscious for a few seconds. When she awoke, her weapon was gone.
Police broadcast information about the suspect on their radios and responding units found and identified the suspect.
Lt. Michael Ford says the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Terrance Jones, was still armed with the security guard’s weapon and “he immediately took an aggressive stance and pulled the gun up to his head,” once police made contact with him.
Officers were able to build a rapport with the suspect and talk him out of hurting himself or others.
Police say Jones is facing robbery, theft and firearms charges.
