Baton Rouge man jumps over casino tables-threatens to kill officers
BATON ROUGE, LA June 3 2018
A Baton Rouge man is now in custody after police say he jumped a table to attack a casino employee, then struggled with officers, threatening to kill them and their families.
On June 1, officers were called out to Hollywood Casino involving an employee and the suspect, Clifton Jeanpierre III, 27. Security officers at the casino told police Jeanpierre had jumped over a table and began threatening one of the employees. Another employee reportedly had to restrain Jeanpierre so he couldn’t get to the employee he was threatening.
Officers tried to detain Jeanpierre, who reportedly struggled with officers and said numerous times he would kill the officers and their families. Officers then tried to put Jeanpierre in a unit, but say he refused to put his feet in the vehicle, so they had to forcibly put him in the unit.
Jeanpierre then reportedly began to kick the window and forced it out of the unit, bending the frame of the vehicle.
While en route to the 1st District station, Jeanpierre reportedly told the transporting officer when he got out of jail, he would google his family and kill them. Then, while at the district station, Jeanpierre continued to threaten officer, reportedly saying when he got out of jail he would go on a “rampage” with an AR-15 and kill officers. Jeanpierre also reportedly spit on one of the officers.
It was found that Jeanpierre had several outstanding warrants in East Baton Rouge Parish. Jeanpierre was booked on charges of resisting an officer, simple assault, battery of a police officer, public intimidation, disturbing the peace, and criminal damage to property.
